Dr Eduard Mension is a specialist in oncoplastic breast surgery and menopause. He takes an integrated approach to these fields to support women’s health. He supports each patient throughout their breast cancer journey, from diagnosis and treatment to recovery and follow-up, as well as during the menopausal transition. He combines clinical excellence, human sensitivity and scientific rigour in his practice, with the aim of improving women’s physical and emotional wellbeing.

He was trained at the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona and holds a PhD in Medicine from the University of Barcelona, awarded Cum Laude. He also holds Master’s degrees in Breast Pathology (Senology) and Hospital Management, both from the University of Barcelona, as well as a degree in Research Methodology in Health Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Dr Mension completed a clinical breast cancer fellowship at Hospital Clínic, where he currently practises, and has further expanded his training at internationally recognised centres such as Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London and the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Alongside his clinical work, he maintains an active research career focused on breast cancer, sexual health, and gynaecological well-being. He has served as principal investigator and collaborator on projects funded by organisations such as the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII) and La Marató de TV3, a major public fundraising initiative in Catalonia that supports biomedical research.

His scientific output includes numerous international publications, particularly on the topics of oncoplastic surgery, fertility preservation, sexual health in women with a history of cancer and the hormonal effects associated with cancer treatments.
