Dr Mar Monzó Pérez specialises in Gynaecology and Obstetrics, with a particular focus on gynaecological oncology and minimally invasive gynaecological surgery.
She obtained her medical degree from Miguel Hernández University of Elche (Spain) and completed her specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Marina Baixa Hospital (Alicante, Spain). She subsequently practised clinically at Bellvitge University Hospital and Viladecans Hospital (Barcelona, Spain).
During her training, she undertook placements in leading units specialising in reproductive medicine, high-risk obstetrics and gynaecological oncology in Spain and at international centres.
She further developed her expertise through the Master’s Degree in Advanced Gynaecological and Pelvic Endoscopic Surgery at Jaume I University and is currently undertaking the Master’s Degree in Advanced Medical Competencies in Gynaecological Oncology and Multidisciplinary Breast Pathology at the University of Barcelona.
She has completed training courses in Spain and internationally at centres such as CMI Jesús Usón, ISLE Academy and other institutions linked to the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology/European Network of Young Gynae Oncologists, as well as international placements at the Italian Hospital of Buenos Aires and San Juan de Dios Hospital in Guatemala City.
She also holds international certifications in minimally invasive and robotic surgery, including GESEA MIGS Level 1 and 2 accreditations and SERGS certification in robotic surgery, obtained at leading European centres.
Furthermore, she is a member of the main scientific societies in the field of gynaecology and gynaecological oncology (SEGO, ESGO, ESGE and SERGS), and attends a range of conferences in Spain and abroad each year.
In addition to her clinical work, she participates in several research projects in gynaecological oncology. She is co-author of publications in international journals such as the Journal of Robotic Surgery and is currently involved in a project on the use of 3D models in gynaecological oncology led by IDIBELL/Bellvitge Hospital.
